This year was the last for Hige Danshaku at the M-1 Grand Prix. However, they left the competition with much regrets, having being eliminated after the 3rd round in the preliminaries.

Today was a PR event for Oshii Mamoru’s new live-action movie called "Assault Girls" starring actress Kuroki Meisa among others. Recently she denied a possible relationship between her and kabuki actor Nakamura Shido, thus reporters once again plastered her with questions regarding her love life. However, Kuroki had a very cool response. "Love? I’ll become a woman who doesn’t need a man."

YEONGGWANG, South Korea — Just a few years ago, the number of pregnant women in this city had declined so much that the sparsely equipped two-room maternity ward at Yeonggwang General Hospital was close to shutting down. But these days it is busy again.

More surprising than the fact of this miniature baby-boom is its composition: children of mixed ethnic backgrounds, the offspring of Korean fathers and mothers from China, Vietnam and other parts of Asia. These families have suddenly become so numerous that the nurses say they have had to learn how to say “push” in four languages.

It is a similar story across South Korea, where hundreds of thousands of foreign women have been immigrating in recent years, often in marriages arranged by brokers. They have been making up for a shortage of eligible Korean women, particularly in underdeveloped rural areas like this one in the nation’s southwest.

Now, these unions are bearing large numbers of mixed children, confronting this proudly homogeneous nation with the difficult challenge of smoothly absorbing them.

The bit about learning to say "push" in four languages made me chuckle. :)

The December issue of Men's Health features a wide range of celebrities for their "girlgroup goddesses" spread - from Brown Eyed Girls' Jea to T-ara's maknae, Jiyeon. All of the girls posing for the magazine look quite stunning, so check out the pictures - under the cut!

Men's Health recently held a vote online asking readers to vote for their favorite girl group members. When the votes came in, four of the most appealing girl group members were pulled from their groups to shoot in the latest pictorial spread. Brown Eyed Girls' Jea, T-ara's Jiyeon, Jewelry's Ha Ju Yeon and Secret's Hyo Sung were of the four girls photographed for the issue, where all the girls showcased their "swagger" for the magazine. All of the girls, posing separately, looked great in the newly released photos aiming for the mature and clean, yet sexy look.

IT IS not always a lucky thing to be able to rub shoulders with the rich and famous.

That's what Singaporean singer-songwriter Hanjin Tan, 33, found out last year.

The Hong Kong-based crooner released his debut English-language album, Raw Jazz, only in March, but he has been a writer-producer for some top names since 1998.

He has worked with stars such as Korean idol Rain, US singer Christina Aguilera and Mando-pop sensations Jacky Cheung, Coco Lee, S.H.E and Leon Lai.

Collaborating with one celebrity led to unforeseen complications though. That is Hong Kong actor-singer Edison Chen, who was involved in the sex photo scandal last year.

Since 2000, Hanjin had written and produced more than 20 songs for Edison, including rap numbers Hong Kong Place and Impossible.

Narsha of Brown Eyed Girls was chosen as the cover model of a magazine called 'Nail Up!'.


'Nail Up!' is Korea's first Nail magazine, and for the December issue, Narsha transformed into various characters from Alice and Wonderland, like the cat, Queen, the mad hatter, and more!

In an interview with 'Nail Up!', Narsha was asked about the KBS 2TV show, 'Invincible Youth', and she replied, "It doesn't have a script, and everyone is responsible for their own lines, so the program is just that much more entertaining."

She also added with humor, "However, I still can't manage to use that bathroom we dug ourselves. So when the camera is rolling, I don't drink water, and try to hold it in. I finally go to the bathroom comfortably in Seoul."

MBLAQ reveals an episode where they wanted to call singer Rain by ‘father’.
MBLAQ said during an interview with Monkey3, “We feel really uneasy with out Rain hyung. His existence is like that of a father. And there was once we call him that and he said ‘How much is our age difference that you are already calling me that?’. Rain hyung don’t like to be called a father. With that we just called him by hyung.”
MBLAQ also revealed, “All of our members listen to f(x)’s ‘Chu’ everyday. Even though the song is good, we don’t have other designs.”

Oh yeah right, no other 'designs'

Park Myung-soo was rushed to the emergency room. While filming “Infinity Challenge” (MBC), the comedian complained of chest pains.

At the emergency room, Park Myung-soo received a chest X-ray and a full medical examination. If his health condition checks out, he will resume filming of “Infinity Challenge.”

Last July, the comedian had a hepatitis A infection and was admitted to the hospital for treatment. Taking on a heavy schedule, Park Myung-soo became very fatigued. As a result, for some time, his body seemed very weak.

Hopefully, everything will be fine for Park Myung-soo, and he can get back to bringing laughter to his fans. If anything, he needs a good break.

Taiwan's rising star Kwai Lun Mei brought her low-key relationship with director Leon Dai into the limelight at the 46th Golden Horse Awards ceremony on Saturday night.

The "All about Women" actress gave Dai a hug onstage as she presented him with the Best Original Screenplay award.

When asked to comment on Dai's award-winning film "No Puedo Vivir Sin Ti" (Cannot Live Without You), before the Best Feature Film award was announced, she choked up several times out of excitement, and the camera also caught Dai in the audience, holding back tears with his eyes red-rimmed.

Leon Dai was the biggest winner at this year's Golden Horse Awards, sweeping up four trophies, including the best director, best feature film, best original screenplay, and outstanding Taiwanese film of the year, as well as an additional award voted upon by audiences for the most outstanding film of the year.

Leon Dai, 43, and Kwai Lun-mei, 25, met five years ago while collaborating on the 2004 film "The Passage". They have kept their relationship hidden because Kwai's parents were against it, according to the TVBS.

In an interview with the Shanghai-based Daily News, Dai said he regarded Vic Chou and Kwai Lun-mei as the most promising of Taiwan's new generation of performers.

"Kwai Lun-mei has a unique grace and personality," he said.

He didn't thank his girlfriend after receiving the awards because he said he wanted to distinguish business from private life. "I hope you will focus on my movie," Dai said.

It was revealed on 1st December that 3 employees from YG Entertainment, which singers Big Bang and 2NE1 are under, were found to have embezzled 2.5billion KRW of the agency singers’ concert fees.

According to Criminal Division 4 of Seoul Central District Prosecutors’ Officesaid that the 3 employees have been charged on non-restraint. The 3 employees were working as managers in YG and have been accused of stealing about 2.5billion KRW worth of the singers’ concert fees for their own pleasure, living expenses and for investment.

In addition, 3 club representatives – Im (37), Ji (40), Kim (39) – with relations with YG Entertainment’s owner Yang HyunSeok have been charged with tax violations. This 3 have in the period of the past 4 years deliberately avoid tax payments of up to 1 billion KRW after using the club’s registration fees etc for their own use.

This was after months of secret investigation by the IRS on YG.
